Live session

CTRLS

Copenhagen-based artist Ctrls presents a live set built entirely around the S4, using samples he created for the factory sound library.

Composed without sequencing, the performance unfolds through looping, modulation, and movement. Ableton Push 3 and an Intech MIDI controller act as mixer and finalizer, while drones and FX are triggered and shaped from the launch grid.

In this session, Ctrls explores a less club-focused side of his sound, opening the S4 into a spacious and performative setup built around play, repetition, and flow.

About Ctrls
The Ctrls project was founded in 2012. From the first release, a distinct sonic language was already present: fast-paced, futuristic, and rooted in techno.

Since then, Ctrls has released music on labels including Token Records, Earwiggle, Micron Audio, Mechatronica, and Key Vinyl. DJing and live performance remain central to the project, with sets at venues including Tresor, Berghain, Khidi, Fabric, KitKat, FOLD, Basement NY, and Club Drugstore, as well as a residency at Copenhagen’s Den Anden Side.

Looking ahead, the project continues to open into a wider palette, folding electro, breakbeats, noise, and audiovisual elements into the distinctive Ctrls sound.
