T-1 uses Euclidean algorithms as a powerful tool for generating a vast variety of rhythmic patterns. The Euclidean algorithm functions by distributing a determined number of pulses as evenly as possible across a determined number of steps in a rhythmic cycle. By changing the number of pulses and steps together with the rotation of the cycle almost all traditional rhythms can be generated.
